Established in 1871, the Art
Gallery of New South Wales is located in Sydney's The Domain adjacent to the
Royal Botanic Garden and near the Central Business District, the Gallery
acknowledges the original custodians of this land – the Gadigal people.
The Art Gallery attracts around 2
million visitors annually and runs Australia's largest education program with
over 90,000 student and teacher visits per year.
With our expanded campus the Art Gallery has
a new state-of-the-art building located next to our existing and much-loved
building. Providing us with close to double the exhibition space, the expanded Art
Gallery enables us to share more art with more people and provide more family,
learning and educational programming for all our audiences.

About the RoleTo identify and engage the next generation (Next Gen) of Philanthropists to ensure ongoing support of the Art Gallery, its collection, resource areas, exhibition programs and expansion.

Technical/soft skills required
Relevant tertiary qualifications in arts and/or communications or demonstrated years of experience
Demonstrated experience in fundraising and stakeholder management,
- Demonstrated experience in creative event management and administration of a membership and/or philanthropic program at a cultural institution or similar.
- Willingness and ability to attend events outside of business hours
Targeted Questions
- Please outline a time you engaged new benefactors for a cultural organisation. What strategies did you use to cultivate their commitment? How did you facilitate the contact through the information management system? What was the outcome? (maximum of 300 words).
- Describe an event you've organised that helped engage new benefactors or stakeholders to an organisation? Outline your strategy in curating the event and the steps you took to ensure it engaged attendees with both the institution and their philanthropy or support? (maximum of 300 words).
