We're partnering with a respected, globally connected organisation to appoint a capable and commercially astute Payroll Specialist into a role that offers genuine scope and stretch.
This is a critical appointment to support a business during transforming its payroll operating model – shifting from in-house delivery to an outsourced solution. You'll not only ensure ongoing delivery of monthly payroll across multiple entities but also take a lead role in shaping the transition, partnering with an external vendor, and supporting end-to-end implementation, testing and change.
It's a rare opportunity to step into a role that blends core payroll responsibility with broader commercial and project exposure – all within a supportive and agile team environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- End-to-end oversight of monthly payroll for employees across Australian and NZ entities
- Leading collaboration with the external payroll provider on implementation, testing, reporting and go-live
- Managing vendor governance and the ongoing relationship post-implementation
- Ensuring timely and compliant reporting (STP, superannuation, FBT) and partnering with Finance on audits and reconciliations
- Providing meaningful payroll insights and workforce data to HR and Finance
- Supporting process improvement, automation, and system documentation
- Handling HR/payroll-linked invoice processing with discretion and accuracy
We're looking for someone who:
- Has strong experience in full-cycle payroll and understands the criticality of compliance and accuracy
- Is confident working with systems and vendors, ideally with exposure to payroll or HRIS transformation
- Brings sound analytical skills and attention to detail, with strong Excel/reporting capability
- Enjoys working cross-functionally and thrives in a structured but fast-paced environment
- Is ready to contribute beyond processing – into reporting, improvement, and operational partnering
- Exposure to expatriate payroll is a bonus, not essential – a conceptual understanding of cost-of-living allowances and gross-to-net adjustments will be highly regarded
