Casual Code Checker required for supermarket chain

This is a casual position working Tuesday to Friday 8am - 1pm

You will be traveling across the varying metro stores checking dates and codes on perishable stock.

Overview:

The Code Checker plays a vital role in maintaining the quality and safety of products in the supermarket. This position is responsible for regularly checking product expiration dates, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, and removing expired or nearly expired items from the shelves. The Code Checker ensures customers receive fresh and safe products while helping to minimize waste and financial loss.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor Product Expiration Dates:

Regularly check expiration dates on all perishable and non-perishable products in designated aisles or sections of the store.

Remove Expired or Near-Expiry Items:

Remove expired or soon-to-expire products from shelves and alert management for appropriate disposal or markdowns.

Product Rotation:

Implement First-In-First-Out (FIFO) method by rotating stock to ensure older items are sold before newer ones.

Compliance with Safety Standards:

Adhere to store policies and food safety regulations to ensure high-quality standards are maintained.

What is required:

  • Current driver's licence and own reliable vehicle
  • Police clearance
  • Full availability Tuesday to Friday
  • Freezer and Dairy knowledge preferable
