We're seeking a skilled and driven Plant & Equipment Head Mechanic to lead our workshop operations. This is a hands-on role where you'll not only be on the tools but also play a key part in driving the success of our business. If you're experienced with plant and construction equipment and want to take ownership of a workshop, this role is for you.

Your Role Will Include:
  • Leading day-to-day workshop operations
  • Servicing, repairing, pre delivering and maintaining plant and equipment (trowel machines, screeds, compactors, pumps, concrete saws and small to medium size engines)
  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical issues
  • Managing spare parts, workshop stock, and supplier relationships
  • Overseeing equipment preparation for hire and sales
  • Providing technical support to customers and internal team members
  • Ensuring workshop safety standards are upheld
Who We're Looking For:
  • Proven experience as a plant and equipment mechanic (construction machinery, small engines, or related field)
  • Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills across a range of equipment
  • Basic understanding of hydraulics and auto electrical components
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of outcomes
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and maintenance planning
  • Leadership qualities – able to mentor apprentices or workshop staff as needed
  • Current driver's licence (forklift or HR licence an advantage)
