About the role

We're looking for a hands-on Facilities Manager to join our Brisbane City team. This role ensures our buildings reflect Iglu's signature blend of cool design and warm hospitality. You'll be responsible for maintaining the property in top condition, managing contractors, and ensuring our residents have an exceptional living experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Performing day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and minor handyman work.
  • Overseeing all preventative and planned maintenance.
  • Managing compliance across essential services and building operations.
  • Ensuring budget performance and value-for-money procurement.
  • Supervising contractors and maintaining service standards.
  • Leading safe work practices aligned with Iglu's WHS standards.
  • Supporting the General Manager and contributing to the resident experience.
  • Conducting and preparing regular property inspections, audits, reports and assessments.

Qualifications and experience

  • High level of interpersonal skills, especially in relating to young people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to meet tight timeframes without compromising accuracy.
  • Demonstrated initiative in problem-solving and openness to new ideas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct minor repairs (carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repairs, painting, etc.).
  • Good working knowledge of Work Health & Safety legislation and practices.
  • Commercial understanding of tendering and service levels from external contractors.
  • Trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry (or similar).
  • WHS Cert IV highly desirable.
  • Current Police Check and Working with Children Check (or ability to acquire).
