About the Role

We are seeking a highly competent Draftsman with strong expertise in Autodesk Inventor to join our team. This role is vital in supporting our fabrication and engineering operations by producing accurate, detailed, and efficient workshop drawings. You will collaborate with our fabrication, workshop, and project teams to ensure designs are practical, precise, and production-ready.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare accurate workshop and fabrication drawings using Autodesk Inventor
  • Interpret project briefs, specifications, and client requirements to create practical design solutions
  • Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and project managers to ensure drawings are fit for purpose
  • Provide drafting support across multiple projects and material types
  • Maintain drawing standards, documentation, and revision control processes
  • Identify potential design issues and propose solutions before fabrication begins
  • Contribute to workflow efficiency and continuous improvement of drafting processes

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven drafting experience within a fabrication, engineering, or manufacturing environment
  • High-level competency in Autodesk Inventor (experience in other CAD packages an advantage)
  • Strong ability to interpret and translate complex technical specifications into workshop-ready drawings
  • Excellent attention to accuracy and detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Desirable Qualifications

  • Trade or tertiary qualifications in Drafting, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes, including sheet metal and structural work
  • Familiarity with quality assurance systems and documentation control
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing and workflow optimisation principles
