Your Responsibilities:

• Personalized Care – Provide tailored support to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs or our young people.

• Daily Assistance – Help with daily living activities and capacity building skills e.g. personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication assistance, and household chores.

• Positive Environment – Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere by promoting social interaction and organising recreational activities.

• Monitoring & Reporting – Keep track of progress and behaviours and report any significant changes to the appropriate personnel.

• Collaboration – Work with healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies to help create and implement individualized care.

• Safety & Cleanliness – Ensure a clean and safe living environment, adhering to WH&S regulations.

• Emotional Support – Offer empathy and crisis intervention when needed.

• Continuous Learning – Attend training sessions and Team Meetings to stay updated on best practices.

What We're Looking For:

• Education – High school certificate or equivalent; additional industry relevant qualifications e.g. early childhood education and care; youth work, mental health, counselling, nursing, teaching, alcohol and other drugs, social work, psychology, etc.

• Experience – Experience in similar role or experience in above mentioned roles.

• Skills – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with young people, their families, and colleagues.

• Organisation – Strong organisational and time management skills.

• Patience & Empathy – Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and understanding.

• Knowledge – Familiarity with relevant legislation and regulations governing residential care, or willing to learn.

• Certifications – Working With Children Blue Card, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, First Aid, CPR, industry relevant qualification or willing to enroll.

• Flexibility – Willingness to work shifts, including daytime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Position Details:

• Part-Time Role – Guaranteed minimum of 15-20 hours per week.

• Award – SCHADS Award 2010.

• Pay – Classification Definition: Crisis Accommodation employee paid from L1.1 at $37.35/hour (Ord. Mon – Fri). Penalty rates and shift allowances apply.
