About Austin Pathology
Austin Health Pathology provides services to Austin Health and the co-located Mercy Hospital for Women, and numerous GPs and Specialists in the community. In addition, Austin Pathology has also taken on responsibility for a number of regional laboratories in the northwest region of Victoria. The laboratories included are Echuca, Swan Hill, Shepparton, and Mildura. Austin Pathology also provide oversight to a number of point-of-care sites including Castlemaine, Seymour, Kyneton, Kerang, Cohuna and Kyabram.
Austin Pathology is committed to providing high quality patient care through routine and specialised diagnostic services, expert advice and support for teaching and research.
Austin Pathology is an accredited laboratory with the National Association of Testing Authorities Australia (NATA), the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA), National Safety and Quality Health Services Standards (NSQHS), National Pathology Accreditation Advisory Council and Medicare Australia, supported by a network of Collection Centres at hospital sites and within the community.
About the role
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and enthusiastic medical practitioners to join our team as a Senior Registrar in the Chemical Pathology Department for the 2026 Clinical Year (commencing February The primary purpose of the Senior Chemical Pathology training position is to undertake further training towards obtaining a Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in Chemical Pathology.
About you
To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:
- At least two years of postgraduate clinical experience in biochemistry
- Basic Clinical Sciences examination passed
- Successful completion of Part 1 of the FRCPA in Chemical Pathology
- Demonstrated interest in metabolic and diagnostic aspects of medicine
- Fundamental understanding of laboratory information systems and well versed in information technology
