Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Farm Manager to oversee the daily operations of our poultry rearing farm. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the farm, including livestock management, equipment maintenance, and staff supervision. The Farm Manager will work closely with other members of the management team to ensure that the farm operates efficiently and profitably.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement farm plans and strategies to maximize productivity and profitability
  • Oversee livestock management, including rearing, feeding, and animal welfare
  • Maintain and repair farm equipment and machinery
  • Hire, train, and supervise farm staff
  • Develop and manage compliance paperwork, budgets and reporting requirements
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant ESA regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain accurate records of all farm activities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Cert IV in agriculture, business management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in farm management, including 3 on a poultry rearing farm
  • Strong knowledge of poultry rearing, and maintenance of farm equipment
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to develop and implement effective farm plans and strategies
  • Strong financial management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
