For the past 9 months, Cottage Kitchen has been delighting guests with its welcoming atmosphere and beautifully curated seasonal menus. We're now seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead the next chapter of our culinary journey.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to lead Cottage Kitchen as your initial focus, immersing yourself in its team, menu, and operations. Once established, your role will expand to oversee and uplift the kitchen operations at Culshaw's Restaurant, located at our award‑winning Majestic Roof Garden Hotel in the east end of Adelaide's CBD.

You'll inspire and mentor your teams, design creative seasonal menus, and deliver consistently high‑quality dishes that reflect our values of sustainability, local sourcing, and authentic hospitality. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who thrives on creativity, professionalism, and operational excellence across multiple venues.

What You'll Bring

  • Demonstrated success as a Head Chef in a high-quality, fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Proven ability to manage COGS and Wage Costs in line with budgetary targets, ensuring profitability without compromising quality.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor and retain talented kitchen teams across multiple venues.
  • A creative and strategic approach to seasonal menu development, balancing innovation with commercial viability.
  • Solid understanding of supplier negotiation, stock control, and waste minimisation to optimise operational efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to ensure clear direction and collaboration with front-of-house and management teams.
  • A commitment to the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety.
