About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team at Gulf Civil Pty Ltd in North Lakes, Queensland. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our construction projects, providing accurate and detailed cost estimates that enable us to deliver high-quality work within budget and on time.

What you'll be doing

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for a variety of construction projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs
  • Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to identify potential risks, challenges, and opportunities for cost savings
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, site supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates
  • Assist in the preparation of bids and tenders, providing detailed cost breakdowns and supporting documentation
  • Continuously research and stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to improve the accuracy and efficiency of your estimating processes
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions

What we're looking for

  • Extensive experience (10+ years) as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a proven track record of delivering accurate and reliable cost estimates
  • Strong knowledge of bulk earthworks, roads, drainage, and infrastructure projects
  • Proficient in Expert Estimation software and Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field (desirable)
