Senior Associate Quantity Surveyor/Estimator

Role overview
We are seeking a Specialist Electrical or Building Services Senior Associate Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to provide strategic estimating leadership and client engagement across either High Voltage Transmission/Substations and Renewables or Building Services (MEP) projects. The role may involve acting as Project Estimate Manager and developing ongoing strategic client relationships. You may work across multiple projects and sectors, delivering estimating excellence and collaborating with project teams and technical leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end estimating process on a project, directing the production of Quantity Surveying/Estimating deliverables.
  • Produce technical deliverables with autonomy and limited guidance.
  • Manage and deliver work across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Develop and implement the Project Execution Plan, including verification and review of procedures.
  • Identify and mitigate potential financial risks through proactive planning.
  • Forecast and assess costs, timelines, quality parameters, and constructability factors.
  • Participate in value management and risk workshops as a subject matter expert.
  • Collaborate with internal and external project teams and technical leaders to plan, develop, deliver, and operate multidisciplinary projects.
  • Recommend changes to current or new directions, ensuring Jacobs applies the latest technical developments.
  • Mentor and assist in the development of junior QS/Estimators within your discipline.
  • During bid phases, be responsible for bid preparation and/or management, leading or contributing to a bid team.

Qualifications and expectations

  • Australian Citizenship is preferred; based in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, or Perth.
  • Ideally a tertiary degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Project Management.
  • Experience in Quantity Surveying or First-Principles Estimating and a passion for delivering estimating excellence.
