What You Will Do

You will work closely with the Senior Accountant and CFO Team to deliver accurate, timely and insightful accounting services to a portfolio of SME clients across various industries.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring invoices and payments are processed accurately and on time.
  • Preparing batch payments, rolling cashflow forecasts and financial reports such as Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets.
  • Completing month-end and year-end reconciliations, journals and working papers, plus BAS, IAS, Payroll Tax and WorkCover lodgements.
  • Maintaining and improving client systems using Xero, Dext and ApprovalMax, ensuring automation and efficiency are maximised.
  • Supporting new client onboarding, setting up templates and reconciling backlogs.
  • Liaising with the ATO and assisting with payment arrangements and registrations (GST, PAYG, Payroll Tax, WorkCover).
  • Monitoring workflow, meeting deadlines and ensuring high-quality, audit-ready documentation.
  • Contributing to process improvements and supporting the CFO Team to deliver exceptional outcomes.

What You Bring

  • Minimum 2 years' accounting experience in a practice, SME or outsourced environment.
  • Confident with month-end, BAS/IAS, reconciliations and reporting.
  • Experienced with Xero, Dext and ApprovalMax (or similar).
  • A strong communicator who values clarity and client care.
  • Bonus skills in budgeting, dashboarding or progressing toward CA or CPA qualification.
