Role Overview

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Senior Manager Corporate Finance plays a pivotal role in shaping SA Water's financial future. You will lead specialist teams in areas such as treasury, investment analysis, financial governance, statutory and tax accounting and financial services ensuring robust compliance while driving a more commercial, value-adding finance function.

Working in close partnership with the Senior Manager Finance – Business Partnering and the CFO, this role provides complementary leadership across the finance function, ensuring both strategic direction and operational delivery are aligned. It influences decisions at CEO and Board level, leads the early stages of a major finance system transformation, and manages critical relationships with Treasury, SAFA, ESCOSA, and the Auditor-General. About the Person

You are a CA/CPA-qualified finance leader with deep expertise in governance, accounting, and commercial finance. Known for your ability to engage Boards and senior executives, you bring strong commercial acumen and a track record of leading teams through transformation. Experience in regulated environments will be highly regarded but is not mandatory.

Your collaborative leadership style, change management capability, and ability to build trusted relationships will set you apart.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial advice to CFO, CEO, and Board.
• Lead specialist teams in financial accounting and governance, treasury, investment analysis, and financial services.
• Drive the early stages of a major finance system implementation, shaping how new tools and processes are embedded across the organisation.
• Manage external relationships with Treasury, SAFA, ESCOSA, and Auditor-General.
• Embed continuous improvement, commerciality, and service excellence across Finance.
• Strong relationship and collaboration with Senior Manager Finance – Business Partnering

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• CA/CPA qualification with a degree in commerce, economics, or accounting (essential).
• Proven leadership and change management capability.
• Strong commercial acumen with Board-level advisory experience.
• Bring proven experience leading the rollout of a large-scale ERP transformation for finance, ensuring best practice in governance, reporting and commercial outcomes.
• Expertise in governance, accounting, tax compliance, and financial systems.
