Senior Accountant, Tax and Advisory

Our client is a leading network of independent Australian accounting and advisory firms. Working together to enable the growth and ambitions of their clients and their people. They specialise in working with middle-market businesses in Australia, including privately owned, foreign-controlled, government-owned entities, and not-for-profits.

They are seeking a highly motivated and organised experienced Senior Tax and Advisory Accountant to join their collaborative team.

Your key core responsibilities will include;

  • Delivery of high-quality accounting and tax services to a diverse client base, including high-net-worth individuals and complex business groups
  • Prepares financial statements, tax returns, and activity statements while recognising key tax issues such as Division 7A, CGT, and fringe benefits tax
  • Provide proactive financial insights, support tax planning and forecasting, and ensure deadlines and clients' expectations are met
  • Assist with mentoring and coaching junior staff, review work for accuracy, and contribute to process improvements and team growth
  • Leverage accounting software (e.g., Xero) to streamline workflows, enhance reporting, and drive efficiencies in compliance and financial management

The ideal candidate will have;

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field
  • Must be a CA or CPA qualified, or close to completion
  • Proven experience using accounting software like Xero, Now Infinity, Practice Ignition, GreatSoft, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to be agile with changing priorities and deadlines
  • Able to develop strong relationships with the clients
  • A keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills
