Experienced Female Support Worker – Complex Needs

Location: Canberra, ACT Employment Type: Casual Hours: 6 – 25 hours per week (with potential for more for the right person) Pay Rate: $37 – $42 per hour (depending on experience)

About Us Primo Care Disability Services is a Canberra-based NDIS provider committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support to individuals living with disability. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced female support worker to join our team in supporting a participant with complex support needs.

About the Role You will be working one-on-one with a participant who requires structured, consistent support due to complex behavioural and psychosocial needs. The role requires a calm, confident and compassionate professional who can implement positive support strategies, establish strong rapport, and maintain clear boundaries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide reliable and consistent support with daily living tasks

  • Support the participant's emotional regulation and goal progression

  • Promote independence and community participation

  • Engage in activities that encourage routine, structure and stability

  • Communicate effectively with the participant's team, including family and therapists

  • Maintain professional boundaries and thorough documentation

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in disability or mental health support

  • Proven ability to work with participants with complex needs or behaviours of concern

  • Female support worker only (due to participant preference)

  • Excellent communication, patience and interpersonal skills

  • Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, and weekends

Qualifications and Requirements

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check

  • First Aid and CPR Certificate

  • Valid Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle

  • NDIS Orientation Module (or willingness to complete)

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability, Community Services or relevant field (preferred)
