About Us
At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners – from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.
We ensure young children get the best start in life by supporting and regulating the early childhood education and care sector. We unlock excellence and unleash the potential of two-thirds of school children in NSW. We're proudly public and the largest education system in Australia. We nurture opportunities for every learner to develop the skills needed for their chosen career path, helping shape the industries of tomorrow.
We respect and value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as First Peoples of Australia.
About School Infrastructure
School Infrastructure has recently undergone a significant transformation, creating exciting opportunities within our executive leadership team.
About The Role
This new role is responsible for overseeing the school infrastructure investment portfolio, ensuring the right strategies, systems, processes, governance and guidance are in place to best support public education.
As a key advisor to the Deputy Secretary, School Infrastructure, this critical role enables the efficient and effective delivery of school infrastructure projects to meet the needs of a growing population and support the achievement of outcomes under the Department's Plan for NSW Public Education.
The role requires strong technical understanding of financial investment and best-practice decision making in the government sector

With strong technical expertise, you will require highly advanced skills and experience in governance, financial and risk management as well as the ability to engage collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Your ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement will be key to fostering a high-performance culture. With your strategic mindset and hands-on approach, you will build confidence in the operations of a critical division in the NSW Department of Education.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

- Hold a valid clearance to work with children (Working with Children Check).
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
As a condition of employment, successful candidates who have not previously worked for the department will be required to provide a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance number.
