Mainframe Developer Join a dynamic, purpose-driven IT team delivering critical systems in support of Australian services abroad. As a Mainframe Developer, you'll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing a major passport issuance platform, using your expertise in COBOL and PL/I mainframe development. You'll work alongside a highly skilled IT team in a secure and structured enterprise environment, ensuring business continuity and compliance.

Location: ACT

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and maintain IBM mainframe applications using COBOL and PL/I
  • Support system integration, deployment, and day-to-day operations
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues on critical systems
  • Contribute to system planning, forward capacity efforts, and after-hours support

Key Criteria:

  • 3+ years' experience in IBM mainframe development using COBOL and/or PL/I
  • Strong background in full software development lifecycle in enterprise environments
  • Proven ability to perform unit testing, code integration, and incident response
  • Comfortable working under structured change/release frameworks and in secure systems
