Legal Secretary (3-Month Contract) – South Yarra

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Legal Secretary to join our 7 employees in our fast-paced South Yarra law firm on a full-time, fixed-term basis. This 3-month contract role is to provide leave cover for our current secretary, working Monday to Friday and supporting the firm principal directly.

This is an ideal opportunity for a legal secretary who enjoys working in a close-knit environment and can hit the ground running.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing day-to-day secretarial support to the principal solicitor
  • Drafting and formatting legal documents and correspondence
  • Managing calendars, client appointments, and scheduling
  • Liaising professionally with clients
  • Maintaining and organising electronic and physical files
  • Occasional overtime may be required – salary reflects this flexibility

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a legal secretary role dealing in common law jurisdiction (experience supporting a principal or sole practitioner is highly regarded)
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Professional communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software (e.g. LEAP, or similar)
