About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our growing Data & Reporting team. You'll design and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes that power the reporting and analytics capabilities of our MAGIQ Performance product.

This role is hands-on with SQL, XML-based connectors, and diverse data sources (APIs, SQL system dumps, structured extracts). You'll collaborate closely with product and consulting teams, ensuring customers have reliable and accurate data solutions that align with financial and operational needs such as General Ledger, Payroll, and Labour Budgets.

What You'll Do
  • Design, build, and optimise ETL pipelines and SQL data models.
  • Work with XML connectors and schema management.
  • Ingest and transform data from APIs, extracts, and SQL systems.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and Consultants to deliver actionable reporting solutions.
  • Troubleshoot escalated issues and provide long-term fixes.
  • Contribute to Agile ceremonies and team collaboration.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years' experience in data engineering or related roles.
  • Strong SQL skills across large and varied datasets.
  • Experience with XML-based data connectors.
  • Knowledge of APIs, SQL dumps, and structured extract transformations.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and schema design.
  • Domain knowledge in finance-related data (GL, Payroll).
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Agile or hybrid delivery experience.
  • Bonus: Certifications or experience in big data or financial data systems.
