About the roleClarence Street is seeking a passionate and experienced Intensive Outreach Professional to join a community-based, intensive outreach program supporting young people aged 13-17 experiencing harms related to substance use. This is a Maximum Term Full-time contract until June 2027.
This innovative program is designed for young people who often access AOD and other services during crisis. You will provide individualised, harm-minimisation-focused support to promote increased functioning and connection to the community. The role also involves offering counselling and support to families or other key supports in the young person's life.
Clarence Street is a leading, evidence-based youth AOD service offering a range of supports including residential withdrawal, therapeutic residential care, outreach, day programs, and family support.
(HP2) Salary range: $ $52.07 per hour plus 12% superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900+access to many staff benefits
What you'll be doing
- Deliver youth alcohol and other drug interventions, including brief intervention, assessment, and support within a harm minimisation framework.
- Facilitate a range of responses that meet the young person's assessed needs such as AOD interventions including primary health.
- Develop strategies and interventions that assist young people to connect and engage with their local community.
- Facilitate positive communication with young people.
- Advocate on behalf of the young people as required.
- Work collaboratively with the allied health team to support treatment goals for the young person and their family/carers or other stakeholders in the young person's care.
- Capacity to successfully manage complex issues and young people whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
- Develop and establish collaborative relationships with other stakeholders to enhance service coordination.
- Provide secondary consultation to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure data entry, reporting and all written communication is completed in a timely manner and meets organisational standards.
- Write case notes and reports to document work undertaken and to facilitate internal and external communication to enhance Clarence Street's collaboration with agencies providing services to Clarence Street young people.
- Developed communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability and experience in establishing and developing key relationships with stakeholders.
- Developed clinical practice knowledge through active learning within the team and by engaging in professional development and research activities.
- Identifies, reports, responds to, and rectifies workplace health and safety (WHS) concerns from within own reporting structure.
About youThe successful applicant must have a minimum Diploma qualification preferably in Alcohol and Other Drugs / Youth Work/ Community Services or other Human Service's qualification and can demonstrate completion of Insight Induction package and/or completion of Dovetails online induction package.
- A current Blue Card
- The successful candidate will be required to obtain a criminal history check.
- This position requires the incumbent to operate an organisation vehicle and an appropriate license to operate this vehicle is required Queensland C Class driver's license.
- Completion of First Aid Training (Emergency Care Course, St John's Ambulance is the minimum requirement)
