Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role located in Melbourne. The
Data Engineer
will work with Power BI, DBT, and Snowflake. They will be responsible for designing and developing data models, performing Extract Transform Load (ETL) operations, managing data warehousing solutions, and analyzing data to support business decisions. The Data Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Mandatory Skill-Data Engineer, Power BI, DBT, Snowflake

Key Responsibilities

6+ years of strong experience with DBT (Data build tool) and Snowflake to design, build and maintain robust data pipelines

Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reports with intuitive user experiences

Optimize data models, ensuring performance efficiency and best practices in Data Analysis Expression ,M Query, and data transformations

Integrate data from Snowflake, SQL databases, and enterprise systems for analytics and reporting.

Proficiency in SQL, including CTE's, window functions, and performance tuning.

Knowledge of could data platforms preferably AWS.

Design and build modular, testable data models in DBT.

Develop and optimize SQL-based transformations in DBT using snowflake as the data warehouse.

Develop clear visualizations to convey complicated data in a straightforward fashion.

Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from various sources into Snowflake

Implement data quality checks and CI/CD practices within DBT projects

Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data needs and requirements.

Monitor performance and cost efficiency of snowflake usage and recommend improvements

Participate in code reviews, testing and deployment of DBT models using Git-based workflows.
