Skyspan Australia is a commercial Designer, Manufacturer, and Installer of Natural Lighting Products such as Skylights, Glass Roofs, Hatches, & Floors throughout NSW, VIC, QLD and beyond.
This role is responsible for a Production team of 15, in scheduling and planning all production activities and processes, through managing the team and overseeing quality standards.
The role is ideal for a motivated, confident leader who thrives on delivering in full on time through continual improvement in a fast-moving busy workshop environment and is passionate about quality, process, WHS and people.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our standard and custom Natural Lighting systems are produced to the highest standard, safely, on time and with care.

Production Manager/Coordinator
Type of employment:
This is a full-time role of 40 hours per week. The role reports to the Operations Manager.
Location:
The role is based in our Winston Hills facility.
Salary:
Your salary will be $100,000 – 120,000 per year plus superannuation depending on experience and suitability for the role
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage production schedules and planning
- Lead and support the production team and promote a positive team culture
- Improve processes, SOPs, and systems to streamline production and company efficiencies via Lean
- Oversee rostering, labour forecasting, and daily/weekly reporting on performance.
- Coordinate and participate in recruitment, onboarding/inductions, and staff training
- Effective line of communication between Design Team, Production, and Projects/Installation Team
- Create and manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and maintain budgets
- Monitor stock levels, update spreadsheets, and prepare for upcoming orders
- Lead safety discussion, maintain WHS obligations, deliver toolbox talks
- Manage product quality control.
- Update management and stakeholders regularly on production progress
- Source, order, and manage material and parts supplier relationships
- Troubleshoot production issues and drive continuous improvement throughout design and production.
- Manage workshop machinery and tools - operation and maintenance requirements
- Manage dispatch / logistics
- Management of, and preparation of production, logistics, and handover documentation
- Handle ad-hoc general administrative duties to support the production team
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous leadership experience in Production management or Production Coordination role – with a construction related industry would be highly regarded.
- Experience in purchasing, procurement, and stock control
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- A proactive, solutions-focused capacity and attitude
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to collaborate with and coordinate people, timelines, and priorities
- Strong computer skills and experience with proficiency in Excel, and experience with accounting software and/or CAD software would be highly regarded.
- Strong at reading and interpreting production plans.
- Good understanding of tools, machinery, and metal fabrication
- Good understanding and experience in the Construction Industry would be a strong advantage
- Strong understanding of WHS standards and ability to implement strategies and manage
- A current driver's license, white card, and forklift license would be a strong advantage
