T. Rowe Price, a global leader in retirement solutions, is seeking a Head of UK Retirement to lead our ambitious growth plans in the UK market. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact and bring renowned UK retirement expertise to the firm, and help build a commercial, local retirement proposition. With two-thirds of our total assets under management in retirement-related assets, T. Rowe Price is a powerhouse in retirement, especially in the US. We are the world's largest manager of active target date assets, and we serve over 2.4 million Retirement Plan Services participants across 8,000+ defined contribution plans in the US. Now, we are expanding our footprint in the UK, leveraging our innovative products, market-leading research, and thought leadership.

Why This Role? As the Head of UK Retirement, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing our UK retirement strategy. You will lead in the building of relevant retirement solutions tailored for the UK market, collaborating with a diverse range of T Rowe Price partner teams. Why now? While the US is the largest retirement market in the world with over $35 trillion, the UK is the third largest retirement market globally with approximately $3.2 trillion and is expected to grow significantly over time, especially in the areas of defined contribution savings and master trust AUM.  T. Rowe Price has been increasing its strategic focus on the UK market and is seeking to leverage its global retirement brand, insights and platform to build deeper institutional, intermediary and policy relationships. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a multi-year UK Retirement Strategy aligned with firmwide goals.

  • Partner with UK Relationship Managers to position our retirement capabilities and identify new revenue streams.

  • Commercialise the retirement offering over time with intermediary and institutional clients, able to make new connections and introductions to advance the UK's retirement strategy.

  • Act as a subject matter expert, developing locally relevant research and thought leadership.

  • Work closely with US-based teams to bring innovative ideas and leverage our strong US retirement heritage.

  • Lead local retirement committees and serve on global forums to ensure effective strategy implementation.

  • Represents T Rowe Price in industry forums, with associations, UK retirement system regulators and policy makers to ensure T Rowe Price has an active voice in these and with the local regulators to influence local pension rules and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable existing relationships at decision maker level across the retirement spectrum

  • Extensive knowledge of asset management industry trends, particularly in pensions and savings, regulation and operations:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with 15+ years of relevant work experience

  • Strategic and Entrepreneurial Skills:

Ability to develop and deliver a multi-year UK retirement strategy.

Entrepreneurial mindset with a self-starter attitude.

Ability to present a compelling vision with actionable milestones and goals.

  • Commercial Acumen:

Experience in commercializing retirement offerings and identifying new revenue streams.

Ability to partner with relationship managers to advance the UK's retirement strategy.

  • Communication and Influence:

Strong communication skills to present thought leadership and research to external clients,

industry events, and press.

Extensive existing relationships with industry bodies, regulators, government, and policymakers

to influence pension rules and regulations.

  • Collaboration and Leadership:

Ability to galvanize and motivate others across the organization.

Experience in leading local retirement committees and participating in global retirement forums.

Ability to drive culture and collaboration within the UK and EMEA sales leadership team.

  • Analytical and Reporting Skills:

Ability to establish key performance metrics and interpret and report on them to senior

leadership.

Experience in leveraging analyses and research to recommend business growth opportunities.

  • Global Perspective:

Ability to partner closely with US retirement business and global retirement strategy team to

bring innovations to the UK, and represent the voice of the UK.

Experience in aligning local strategy with global priorities and ensuring global leverage.
