POSITION PURPOSE
The Product Development Manager is responsible for design, development and over-seeing product-life-cycle activities across asset classes for UCITS and AIFs based in Luxembourg and UK.
Acting with a high degree of autonomy, the Product Development Manager is responsible for translating market, client, and competitor insights into an EMEA product roadmap aligned to distribution priorities and strategic growth plans. Developing new investment products and managing existing ones to meet client needs and commercial goals.
Reporting to the Product Director, International (ex. Japan) Commercial & Vehicle Product the role involves working in close partnership with the EMEA Distribution team, Global Product teams and other functions such as Legal, Compliance, Fund Administration and Client Operations.
Being part of the International (ex. Japan) Commercial & Vehicle team split across London, Luxembourg, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney.
Principal Responsibilities
- Develop product positioning and value proposition aligned to the EMEA regional distribution channel and strategic growth plans.
- Design & development of new EMEA based products ensuring the new products are optimal from legal, regulatory, operational, sales and marketing and, above all, client perspectives.
- Monitor product health (client feedback, competitiveness, value-for-money) and implement enhancements, mergers, closures, or repositioning as needed.
- Research & development of product enhancements to the existing EMEA based fund structures to ensure they are "fit for purpose" whilst ensuring they remain optimal from legal, regulatory, operational, sales and marketing and, above all, client perspective.
- Prepare, present and defend robust and commercially aware business cases, including risk and operational impact assessments. Manage approvals through product committees, boards, and ManCo governance.
- Act as a product owner for distribution teams, providing insights and support where appropriate.
- Ensure product development processes are robust and managed effectively, ensuring that TRP's funds operate to the high standards established within the T. Rowe Price Group and continue to be compliant with applicable laws and guidance.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES / SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Experience in similar roles and 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Knowledge and interest in the investment funds industry, market and commercial trends.
- Command of EMEA fund regulation and product governance, including FCA COLL, PRIN/Consumer Duty, ESMA/CSSF rules, MiFID II, SFDR, UK SDR, with a sound knowledge of operational frameworks and how these all translate into product design and disclosures.
- Stakeholder management and influencing skills are important; this person should be comfortable leading cross-functional projects and presenting to committees and boards. Collaborative and culturally aware, able to operate across business units, geographies and time zones.
- Analytical, data-driven, and detail-oriented; proficient in turning insights and feedback into actionable product decisions.
- High standards of written and verbal communication; able to craft clear product narratives and technical documentation.
- University graduate or equivalent relevant work experience.
- CFA preferred.
