ABOUT THE BUSINESS

Melbourne Açaí Vans (trading as Açaí Avenue) is a fun, fast-growing food business bringing fresh, fruity, feel-good Açaí bowls to sports clubs, markets, schools, and community events across Melbourne.

Our purple vans are a hit with kids, families, and athletes – and we're all about delivering healthy energy with a smile. With four vans already on the road, we're now hiring local crew members to join our Kilysth team.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE

We are currently seeking Casual Van Crew Members to work at our KILSITH VIC van.

  • Shifts typically on Saturdays from 8am to 3pm.
  • Applicants must live nearby or have reliable transport to Kilsyth,

This role is ideal for high school students (generally ages 14–17) looking for weekend and after-school work, but applicants of all ages are welcome.

ROLE

As a Van Crew Member, you will:

  • Serve Açaí bowls with speed and a smile.
  • Take customer orders on POS (training provided).
  • Cash handling and documentation
  • Help set up and pack down the van before and after shifts.
  • Keep the work area clean and food safe.
  • Be part of a small, friendly team that makes each shift fun
  • Get involved with customers and produce social media content
  • Follow company procedures, apps, google sheets or similar for record keeping
  • Other activities as requested by owners

REMUNERATION

  • Paid under the Fast Food Industry Award 2025 (junior and adult casual rates apply).
  • Penalty rates apply.

SELECTION PROCESS

Applicants who meet the requirements will be invited to attend a short trial session at either Kilsyth VIC.

  • This is an opportunity to see the job in action, meet the team, and show us your energy and customer service skills.
  • The trial will be free to attend and only used to assess suitability (you won't be performing regular paid work during the trial).
  • Applicants who are successful at the trial will be shortlisted for ongoing casual shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Energetic, reliable, and happy to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Friendly and confident talking to customers.
  • Must live near Kylsith, or be able to travel reliably to these locations.
  • Must hold or be willing to apply for a Working With Children Check (Volunteer/Employee).
  • Food handling experience is a bonus, but not required (we provide training).
