The purpose of the role is to support the governance and oversight of advice fees deducted from superannuation and retirement products, ensuring obligations and policies are met across the operations of the funds. The role itself supports the ongoing management of the Trustee's advice file review program, internal reporting and insights, maintaining key frameworks and processes. This role will support the operations of the Wealth Fund and AMP Super Fund.
How you'll make an impact
- Lead ongoing investigations into advisers and Licensees via advice file reviews or investigations to assist NM Super to provide adequate monitoring and supervision of advice fees deductions
- Support the preparation for Senior Management Committee meetings, board papers and reports
- Support sampling activities including selection file requests, follow-ups, reviews, reports and calibration including investigative actions and engagement with third-party service providers
- Manage workflows and record keeping for file requests
- Support maintenance of policies procedures documents
- Manage the execution of Annual AFSL Attestation processes
- Manage Advice Fee Exceptions Committee (AFEC) and Licensee /Operations Forums as required including maintaining appropriate governance in line with the committees Terms of Reference i.e. documentation, minutes, procedures etc.
- Support adhoc requests as need to ensure robust governance of advice fee deductions
- Support and provide input to management and Trustee reporting
- Working cross-functionally, recommendation actions and working to improve key processes or controls.
- Assist with regulatory updates as required
What you will bring to the team
Ideally, you will bring the following experiences to this role:
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience in financial services compliance or advice supervision (with a focus on Financial Advisers) within Wealth Management such as product, advice, compliance, distribution, operations
- Previous experience conducting investigations and advice file reviews (SOAs, ROAs) or previous experience as a financial adviser
- Previous experience writing board papers, packs, agendas and minutes will be highly regarded
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong focus on gathering and collating information and evidence
- Organised and focused on record keeping and register
- Some knowledge of legislation and regulation for Registered Superannuation Entities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Relevant qualifications in Financial Planning or related discipline
