About The OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a
Senior Project Manager
to join our AUKUS Delivery team based in Flinders Street, South Australia.

Reporting to the Head of Capability Pathway, this role will manage project scope, schedule, budget, risk, and opportunities to enable successful delivery of program outcomes. Additionally, this role will be responsible for managing multiple control accounts that will help deliver phase 1 of the AUKUS program. This role will have a focus on the Transfer of Technology within the AUKUS program.

The successful incumbent will make informed decisions, trade-offs and prioritisation between projects to optimise program outcomes, through planning and managing program performance, inter-project dependencies, portfolio resources, and program risks and opportunity. The Senior Project Manager will collaborate with internal and external senior stakeholders across the UK and Australia, building relationships and engaging to provide program support, growth opportunities, and achievement of common goals. The role will ensure appropriate governance is applied to the project, which is commensurate with the risk and complexity profiles, in order to provide confidence in performance.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Develop strategic relationships with industry partners and BAE Systems international entities for the successful implementation of the Transfer of Technology Strategy for the program.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the project team, which is aligned to strategic business objectives under the broader Capability Pathway activity.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative culture between the key project stakeholders and the project team, including the customer, industry partners, sub-contractors and suppliers
  • Build and maintain a trusted relationship with the customer by being a focal point for customer contact for Transfer of Technology
  • Lead the project team to ensure timely activity, integration and efficient use of time and resources to meet requirements
  • Ensure all project requirements and / or objectives are properly documented in a business case and/ or project brief, as appropriate and vigorously pursued
  • Establish appropriate key success indicators (KSI's) and recommend trade-offs between scope, quality, time and cost. Monitor relevance of KSI's and influence enhancements where valuable
  • Ensure that products and services delivered as part of a project are in accordance with the Product Safety Policy and provide customer satisfaction
  • Develop an appropriate risk management culture, which continuously mitigates known risk areas. Ensure risk position, and business impacts, are communicated outside of the project team
  • Provide direction to, and motivate, the broader (matrix) project team for Transfer of Technology
  • Identify and address training and development needs for the project team
  • Complete all closure and wrap-up activities upon project completion including lessons learnt
  • Provide mentoring to developing Project Managers

About YOU

  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management (desirable)
  • Previous experience in a Senior level role of similar responsibility
  • Previous experience in managing similar knowledge transfer programs and/or technology transfer would be an advantage
  • Previous experience in supporting product development, manufacturing development activities would be advantageous.
  • Experience in managing the quality of program outputs to ensure strategic objectives are met
  • Experience in conducting program level meetings and reviews
  • Proven influencer and communicator with stakeholders at all levels, with experience in influencing senior leadership and senior customer representatives
  • Current NV1 Defence security clearance
