HSE Advisor (Full-Time) — BESS Concrete

BESS Concrete is seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to join our team in a full-time position based in Brisbane. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated safety professional who understands the pace and standards of the construction industry and can build strong relationships on site.

About the role

Reporting to the management team, you will support the delivery of safe, compliant, and efficient operations across our projects. You'll provide practical, hands-on safety leadership and help drive continual improvement in our safety systems and site performance.

Key responsibilities

· Provide on-site safety support and coaching to supervisors and crews

· Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments

· Assist with SWMS, JHAs, permits, and WHS documentation

· Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions

· Support toolbox talks, safety training, and safety communications

· Ensure compliance with Queensland WHS legislation and relevant codes/standards

· Contribute to continuous improvement of WHS systems and reporting

About you

· Construction industry experience is essential (Holder of Construction white/blue card)

· Hold the relevant, current WHS qualifications required to operate in Queensland (Minimum Cert IV  Work Health & Safety)

· Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and construction site requirements

· Confident communicator with the ability to engage with site teams and leadership

· Organised, proactive, and able to work across multiple sites and priorities

· Ability to use safety system software applications (eg HammerTech).

· First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain)

· Proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work independently

· Australian work rights required for this position
