About the Role

HeliMods is seeking a commercially astute and hands-on Financial Controller to lead the evolution of its finance function. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to build and scale the frameworks, systems, and processes that enable smarter decision-making, optimise project outcomes, and support the company's continued growth into a globally scaled operation.

This role works closely with HeliMods' Founder, Head of Finance, and key stakeholders, driving both strategy and execution in a dynamic, future-focused business.

Key Responsibilities

Build Scalable Reporting Foundations:

  • Develop robust, scalable, and auditable reporting frameworks to ensure consistency and accuracy. Manage the manufacturing cost model, transfer pricing, and group allocation models.

Project Financials & Insight:

  • Design and implement financial tools and templates that shift the business from retrospective reporting to proactive, insight-driven forecasting and decision-making.

Business Partnering:

  • Collaborate across departments to deliver financial analysis and insights that align performance with organisational goals and support operational efficiency.

Mentoring & Culture:

  • Contribute to a collaborative, values-led culture. Support and challenge peers through knowledge sharing and team development.

Prepare for Scale:

  • In partnership with the Corporate Systems Lead, establish financial systems and processes to support future audits, cross-border operations, and multi-entity consolidation—laying the foundation for HeliMods' transition to large business status.

About You

The ideal candidate brings:

  • CA or CPA qualified, preferably with a Big 4 or similar background
  • Experience scaling finance functions to support global growth.
  • Proven experience mentoring or training non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong experience in financial management with deep knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in ERP and finance-related systems.
  • Background in project-based manufacturing, aviation, or similarly complex, fast-paced environments.
  • A collaborative, service-minded approach with a knack for translating complexity into clarity.
  • A hands-on, solutions-focused mindset and a track record of continuous improvement.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Eligibility to obtain Baseline Security Clearance - non-negotiable
