This is a hands-on role suited to a solutions-focused professional who can work onsite with the Finance team to resolve issues efficiently, collaborate closely with stakeholders, and uplift process quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and prepare accurate, well-supported correcting journals.
  • Lead the clean-up and stabilisation of cash and bank reconciliations, ensuring completeness and timely resolution of outstanding items.
  • Review and reconcile lease-related accounting data across multiple systems and sources, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and audit readiness.
  • Map existing transactional workflows (AP, AR, cash application, lease postings), identifying gaps, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop simplified, standardised procedures and workflow documentation to support operational teams in executing tasks accurately and consistently.
  • Support month-end close activities and ensure reconciliations and journals are completed on time.
  • Work closely with onsite Finance, Funding, and Systems teams to ensure alignment, knowledge transfer, and smooth implementation of improvements.

Key Deliverables (Over the 3-Month Contract)

  • Fully reconciled, audit-ready balance sheet accounts with clear supporting schedules.
  • Cash reconciliation processes stabilised, with sustainable daily/weekly routines.
  • Documented findings highlighting issues, inefficiencies, and control gaps in transactional workflows.
  • Standardised procedures and visual workflow documents (e.g., flowcharts, checklists) for AP, AR, cash application, and lease accounting processes.
  • Practical and implementable recommendations to strengthen controls, accuracy, and process consistency.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong technical capability in balance sheet reconciliations and financial control.
  • Proven experience resolving complex or legacy reconciliation issues.
  • Practical understanding of lease accounting under IFRS/AASB.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse processes, identify improvement opportunities, and document workflows clearly.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working across multiple finance systems.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in an onsite environment.
