About the role
We are seeking an experienced Fitter and Turner to join our team at TEi Services Pty Ltd in Townsville, Queensland. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for job planning, set up, precision machining and fitting. This is a hands-on role and is essential to the efficient operation of our business.
What you'll be doing
- Manufacture, modify and assemble mechanical components.
- Operate machine tools such as lathes, mills and borers and other metalworking equipment
- Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on a variety of industrial machinery and equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, and implement appropriate solutions
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all work carried out
- Adhere to all health, safety and environmental regulations and procedures
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members
What we're looking for
- Formal trade qualification as a Fitter and Turner or similar
- Demonstrated experience of at least 5 years in a similar industrial maintenance role
- Strong practical skills and expertise in the use of a wide range of machine tools and equipment. Manual and CNC.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
