Little bit about the role

Based at the Inner Melbourne Community Hub, Ozanam House supports people aged 18 and over who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The centre offers access to meals, showers, laundry facilities, health services, case management, and accommodation options, including crisis, extended stay, and independent living units.

As the Team Leader, you'll lead a team of Engagement Workers to deliver high-quality, client-centred support. This includes overseeing daily operations, staff supervision, service improvement, and data reporting.

The role involves providing leadership across engagement activities, managing challenging behaviours, coordinating group programs, and ensuring effective triage and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to deliver integrated, person-focused support.

Key Selection Criteria

• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering high-quality services.
• Strong operational management skills, including program planning, staff supervision, and reporting.
• Knowledge of compliance, risk, and accreditation frameworks.
• Proven ability to engage professionally with clients, manage complex cases, and respond to challenging behaviours.
• Sound understanding of issues impacting people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, including family violence, mental health, disability, and financial hardship.
• Ability to assess client needs and provide effective, person-centred support.
• Commitment to social justice, human rights, and culturally responsive practice.
• Willingness to work on a rotating shift roster.
