Orontide is a leading Western Australian company providing specialist engineering, fabrication, preservation, and integrity maintenance services to the Oil & Gas, Mining, Naval Defence, Marine and Commercial Industries.

As a result of the company's continued growth, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Advisor to join our team. This is a permanent position based in Henderson, within our Industrial Services business unit.

About the Role

The successful candidate you will be reporting to the Manager – Industrial Services, you will actively support the management team to deliver an incident and injury free work environment by monitoring adherence to Health and Safety legislation, adaptation of current best practice, robust management systems and ongoing coaching of operational teams. You will assist in implementing Health, Safety, and Environment and Quality initiatives and continue to drive a positive safety culture.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide HSEQ oversight across concurrent high-risk projects to prevent safety incidents.
  • Lead internal audits, root-cause investigations, and corrective-action plans to uphold ISO standards and internal policy frameworks.
  • Implement DISP-aligned controls for physical security, cyber resilience, and contractor management, maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Coordinate PCCP renewals and surveillance audits for ISO accreditations.
  • Completion of pre-qualification questionnaires and tender responses
  • Conduct ongoing skills-gap audits and update the HSEQ skills matrix to ensure targeted training and sustained capability.
  • Oversee change-management processes and develop equipment safety-check and pre-start inspection documents to guarantee operational readiness and compliance.

To be successful for this position, you must possess the following:

  • Extensive experience in a similar HSEQ role (resource industry exposure preferred).
  • Cert IV in Work Health and Safety (preferred)
  • Lead Auditor/Internal Auditor (desirable)
  • Diploma Work Health and Safety highly regarded.
  • Thorough understanding of HSE legislation, standards and requirements, including auditing.
  • Strong working knowledge of sound leadership techniques and concepts.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage changes in competing priorities.
  • Proven experience in coaching and promoting safety behavioural programs.
  • Experience in INX and CDMS - SharePoint would be advantageous.
