Senior Azure Cloud Engineer

What You'll Do

• Provide expert Level 3 support across Windows Server platforms as well as cloud-based solutions to ensure seamless operations within complex hybrid environments.
• Administer and maintain hybrid infrastructure encompassing on-premises systems, Azure VMware Solution (AVS) and Azure-native services to deliver reliable performance for critical government functions.
• Integrate services with third-party providers such as WAN and secure internet gateways (e.g., Verizon) to enhance connectivity and security across all platforms.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders through SIAM-aligned processes including incident management, change management and problem management.
• Partner with service desk and desktop teams to provide robust support for modern M365 environments, ensuring end-user satisfaction and operational excellence.
• Support infrastructure transformation projects aligned with the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework to drive innovation and efficiency.
• Contribute actively to application services management by optimising virtual server environments for scalability, reliability and performance.
• Participate in ongoing improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing system integration, automation capabilities and overall service delivery quality.
• Document technical procedures thoroughly while sharing knowledge with colleagues to foster continuous learning within the team.
• Engage in regular communication with stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment of technology solutions with business objectives.

What You Bring

• Extensive experience working with Windows Server versions 2016 through 2022 in enterprise or government settings where reliability is paramount.
• Demonstrated hands-on expertise in deploying, configuring and maintaining solutions on the Azure Cloud Platform within complex hybrid environments.
• Proficiency managing VMware environments including integration with Azure VMware Solution (AVS) for seamless workload migration and optimisation.
• In-depth understanding of Azure networking concepts such as hub-and-spoke topology along with practical experience implementing these architectures.
• Strong background in virtual server management coupled with proven ability to oversee application services for high availability.
• Familiarity with the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework enabling effective participation in large-scale transformation projects.
• Experience utilising Microsoft Intune for device management as well as SharePoint Online for collaboration; exposure to Power Platform tools like Power Automate is highly regarded.
• Relevant certifications such as MS900 (Microsoft 365 Fundamentals), MS102 (Microsoft 365 Administrator), AZ900 (Azure Fundamentals), AZ104 (Azure Administrator Associate) are required or highly desirable.
• Current NV1 Security Clearance is mandatory due to the sensitive nature of federal government work.
