Our Company is a medium size family-owned manufacturing company based in Springvale Victoria. We have over 30 years' experience specializing in the manufacturing of fire doors, supplying our products within the Construction, Commercial, residential sectors.

We are currently seeking an experienced Production Manager for a full time, permanent position. You will need to be highly motivated, have excellent leadership and communication skills. We expect you to have sound knowledge in production procedures, with an ability to work within a team environment reporting directly to the General Manager whilst working closely with Sales staff and estimators. You will be overseeing a group of 10 workshop employees to ensure all tasks are completed to a high standard and in a safe manner.

The goal is to ensure an efficient and productive manufacturing process that meets customer requirements, Company goals and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

· Organised daily production scheduling to meet specifications and deadlines

· Liaise with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements

· Estimate costs and prepare budgets

· Monitor production to resolve issues ensuring a high standard of quality control is maintained at all times

· Identify and implement efficiency improvements across all processes

· Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel

· Manage, determine necessary resources ie raw materials, workshop staff

· Manage and monitor Inventory and stock control processes

· Liaise with suppliers regarding orders to ensure workflow requirements are attained

· Ensure preventative action of equipment and tool scheduling is maintained

· Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements

Qualifications & Experience

· Trade qualification in joinery or 5 years of experience in the joinery industry

· Minimum 2 years in a Production Management role

· Excellent attention to detail, problem solving and time management skills

· High competency in reading and interpreting plans and shop drawings

· Strong communication and people skills

· Sound material, hardware knowledge essential

· Software programming of CNC equipment – an advantage

· Sound computer skills using scheduling software and production systems, Microsoft office

· Clear spoken and written English essential
