Responsibilities

  • Efficiently service, maintain, and repair plant, equipment, and fleet vehicles
  • Complete daily work tasks as assigned by the Workshop Supervisor/Leading Hand
  • Accurately process work orders, purchase orders, and part requisitions
  • Monitor and manage stock levels, reporting any discrepancies
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure all vehicles meet compliance and roadworthiness standards
  • Keep accurate maintenance records and job documentation
  • Collaborate with day-shift mechanics for smooth handovers
  • Work independently overnight with access to full workshop facilities and support

What We're Looking For

  • Trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics (Cert III or higher)
  • At least 3 years' experience maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • High attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
  • Clear communication skills and a proactive approach
  • Ability to work independently during night shifts
