Location: Warragul & surrounds | Part-time (24–30 hrs/week - job share may be available)
It takes a Village to raise a child - and a Village to support healing.
The Village Health believes every person thrives when they feel safe, supported, and genuinely seen. Based in Warragul, they offer compassionate, evidence-based counselling and wellbeing services to children, young people, and families across West Gippsland.
Their work goes beyond mental health support, they nurture resilience, connection and belonging. Led by Director and Lead Therapist Elizabeth Banks, their multidisciplinary team shares a deep commitment to kindness, professionalism, and wraparound care.
They are more than a clinical service - they're a community. A place where practitioners collaborate, where young people are accepted just as they are, and where families receive practical, meaningful support through life's toughest moments.
Through individual counselling, group programs, psychoeducation, and community partnerships, they help people grow into their strongest selves, at their own pace, and with the support of a whole Village behind them.
They are now looking for their next team member: a compassionate, skilled, and collaborative Counsellor or Psychologist who is passionate about working with children and adolescents.
Why Join The Village?
- The Village are a values-led team that prioritises compassion, safety and growth;
- Ongoing professional development and supervision;
- Opportunities to help shape services and develop group programs; and
- Work in a warm, supportive environment where your work makes a real difference.
There is also a degree of flexibility available in this role.
About the Role
In this role, you will:
- Provide individual therapy using developmentally appropriate, evidence-based approaches;
- Facilitate their after-school peer support group, fostering social connection and emotional regulation;
- Work holistically with families, schools, and community services;
- Support parents and carers through education and practical strategies; and
- Collaborate with a team that genuinely cares - contributing to a culture of kindness and continuous growth.
Who We're Looking For:
You bring empathy, adaptability, and a genuine passion for working with young people. You are strengths-based and client-centred in your approach, and you balance professionalism with warmth and flexibility. You communicate well, work independently, and thrive in a collaborative team.
You also have:
- Experience or strong interest in working with children and adolescents
- Knowledge of child and adolescent development, mental health presentations, and evidence-based interventions
What You'll Need
Qualifications & Registration:
For Counsellors:
- Bachelor's degree in Counselling (or related discipline)
- Registration with ACA or PACFA
For Psychologists:
- Provisional or full AHPRA registration
- Medicare eligibility
Checks & Requirements:
- Working With Children Check;
- Police Check;
- First Aid & CPR; and
- Current Victorian Driver's License.
Come thrive in the Village - where compassion and skill guide people to become their strongest selves.
We'd love you to be part of the story.
Please apply using the 'Quick Apply' button, including your cover letter (explaining why this opportunity excites you and what you have to contribute to The Village's story)
