**About the role

The purpose of this role is to conduct high-level clinical/neuropsychological assessments, and brief interventions beyond routine level of practice responding to consumers and their families/carers who are impacted by acute mental health problems within a multidisciplinary team in the Mental Health Acute Inpatient Service (MHAIS).

This role undertakes duties of a complex and varied nature with clinical decisions based on valid and reliable evidence and is recognised as a reference point for other clinicians in the team.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

Ability to provide high quality evidence-based clinical/ neuropsychology assessments, therapy, and interventions to consumers admitted to MHAIS.

Ability to work collaboratively with consumers and their families, carers and other service providers and other mental health teams/services within a strong recovery framework and in achieving identified consumer outcomes.

Ability to provide clinical practice supervision to less experienced psychologists and students on postgraduate placement in accordance with the PsyBA guidelines.

Investment to a service (including team and discipline) through identified contributions resulting in improved service provision, better consumer outcomes and discipline specific activities.

Mandatory Requirements:

Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16

General registration or eligibility for general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) is mandatory.
