The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager of Internal Communications, this role will support the design and execution of strategic internal communication and engagement initiatives across ASC's multi-class sustainment operations.

You'll play a key role in shaping ASC's internal communications function: ensuring messages are clear, consistent, and aligned to the company's business objectives and transformation agenda.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence culture, drive engagement, and deliver meaningful communication outcomes in one of Australia's most significant defence organisations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an Internal Communication & Engagement Plan in line with ASC's broader business strategy.
  • Create and deliver engaging, high-quality content across multiple internal channels to reach diverse audiences.
  • Support organisational change and transformation projects through targeted communications that build awareness and alignment.
  • Provide strategic communications advice and coaching to senior leaders on employee engagement and messaging.
  • Partner with teams across ASC to drive the Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and strengthen cultural connection.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within People & Culture, ensuring communication processes are efficient and impactful.

About You
You're a passionate communications professional who brings creativity, structure, and a people-first mindset to your work. You enjoy operating in complex, fast-paced environments and are comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in internal communications, employee engagement, or stakeholder relations.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver communication plans that drive measurable outcomes.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and content creation skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to balance competing priorities.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Must be an Australian Citizen and able to go through defense clearances.
