Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) Pty Ltd is a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment.

The Opportunity

With strong growth in our Remanufacturing (Component rebuild) division, Hitachi is actively seeking a motivated individual to join the team in the position of Workshop Fitter. This opportunity will see you overhaul a range of mining machine major components to OEM specifications in a professional, timely manner.

Based in our Forrestdale branch, you will also be responsible for:

  • You will be trained to perform major component overhauls on a wide range of components
  • Ensuring all work carried out is performed in a safe manner
  • Completion and submission of all relevant paperwork and reports
  • Maintain a clean and tidy working environment in line with the company's 5S standards

To be successful in this role:

  • You will have a relevant trade qualification
  • Have a strong mechanical aptitude and be willing to learn
  • High Risk Work licences (forklift, dogging, working at heights, etc) would be highly regarded
  • A safety focus with a good understanding of Workplace Health and Safety principles
  • Good communication skills and a dedication to providing quality work for an OEM
