THE ROLE

Location

To be able to offer our customers 10 weeks of continuous supply of the highest quality cherries, we have 3 growing regions. This role is located at 3 of our established Alexandra farms.

The role - On Farm

You will want to become part of a hands-on team who are passionate growers. Our culture is to enhance careers of our talent and we are looking for dedicated team players with passion for horticulture.

This is a fulltime position all year round which builds up to a busy harvest period from October to January.

The off season involves a lot of planning with our new developments together with preparation and organization for the fast-paced harvest season. This seasonal component keeps the job interesting. The landscape and views on farm are truly stunning all year round.

The Team

You will join a dedicated farm hand team and report to a very approachable and knowledgable Farm Manager.

Our Production Manager and In-house Agronomist are also on hand to guide you together with our In-House Maintenance and Engineering Manager and his team of mechanical technicians with a state-of-the-art workshop based at our head office in Yarck.

Your Experience

The successful applicant will be reliable, honest and self-motivated. You could turn your general farming experience into a career in horticulture.

To be considered for this role, you will have the following:

  • General farming experience from a prior farm hand role

  • Current drivers' licence

  • The ability to demonstrate a commitment to OHS policies, procedures and regulations.

  • Skills to maintain a safe and organized work area

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Preparedness to embrace technology, learn and utilize new orchard management software.

The following skills and qualifications would be advantageous, but not essential:

  • Computer skills

  • Forklift Licence

  • Heavy Vehicle Licence

  • Knowledge of Agricultural Machinery

  • Tractor operation

  • Irrigation operation

  • Chemical and fertiliser application
