The Opportunity
The APP Group is expanding our Defence sector capability and is currently seeking expressions of interest for upcoming Assistant Project Manager roles across Queensland.

These roles are ideal for early to mid-career professionals with project delivery experience who are ready to take the next step and contribute to complex infrastructure and government programs. As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll support the delivery of strategic projects, working closely with experienced leaders and a broad range of stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes from planning through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support project delivery across all lifecycle stages: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Assist in managing procurement activities in line with Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
  • Maintain project documentation and reporting in accordance with Defence and APP Group standards.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships through effective communication and engagement.
  • Contribute to project outcomes by supporting risk management, continuous improvement, and timely closeout processes.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Business, Engineering, Construction Management);
  • Must currently hold (or be eligible to obtain) a minimum Baseline Security Clearance.
  • Experience supporting project delivery, ideally within the defence or broader government sector.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies such as PMBOK, PRINCE2, or Agile is desirable.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and stakeholder engagement skills.
