The Director's key responsibilities are:

  • Lead the S/4HANA migration project, a complex multi-agency program of work, ensuring project deliverables meet quality standards and business requirements.
  • Establish, influence, and maintain relationships with and between key internal and external stakeholders, facilitate effective communication channels to promote the successful adoption of change within the agency, and foster relationships through lessons learned, feedback mechanisms, and management of expectations.
  • Act as the bridge between finance leadership, departmental teams, and the external implementation partner (QSS).
  • Lead the S/4HANA project team by setting directions, prioritisation of deliverables, develop project management skills, and prioritise workloads.
  • Promote and ensure the use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies, and tools, including benefits realisation and risk and issue management, to ensure quality project outcomes are delivered in accordance with project plan/s.
  • Lead collaboration with a wide array of teams to ensure S/4HANA aligns with the strategic direction of the department, business areas, and whole-of-Government, meeting organisational capacity and budget requirements.
  • Manage and achieve results in all aspects of the development and implementation and provide authoritative advice and negotiate confidently with senior management and stakeholders on all matters relating to the successful delivery of a relatively complex project.
  • Address user concerns and feedback during and after implementation.
  • Report project performance and health (including status, financial impact, progress against milestones, risks and issues) to the relevant governance boards including the agencies Chief Finance Officers and executive leadership teams.
