The Vision for This Role

As an Intermediate Software Engineer, your mission is to design, build, and maintain the software systems that power our products and services. You'll be the architect behind scalable, reliable, and efficient applications that deliver seamless experiences to our users. Your work will be crucial in enabling our commercial, engineering, and marketing teams to innovate faster, while ensuring the technology we build supports our growth strategy in Australia and globally.

What You'll Be Doing

No two days are the same at Trendii, but here's a peek at what you'll get up to: ### Software Design & Development

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and services that power our platform
• Build new product features end-to-end, from architecture and implementation to testing and deployment
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that balances performance with reliability
• Implement automated testing, monitoring, and deployment pipelines to ensure high-quality software delivery

System Integration & Platform Development:

• Integrate with third-party APIs and platforms (e.g. advertising networks, e-commerce platforms) to expand Trendii's capabilities
• Implement best practices for code quality, system security, and performance monitoring
• Manage and optimise infrastructure and cloud costs to ensure scalability and efficiency

Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Provide guidance to other teams on how to best use our software platforms and tools for maximum impact
• Work closely with our leadership team to ensure features meet user needs and deliver business value
• Collaborate with the engineering team to build and maintain internal tools and dashboards that improve productivity and visibility

What We're Looking For

Experience:
3-6 years in software engineering, preferably within ad-tech, SaaS, e-commerce, or digital marketing industries.

Technical Skills (Required):

• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g. JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Go, or similar)
• Experience with cloud-based application development (preferably Google Cloud Platform)
• Familiarity with modern web frameworks (e.g. React, , , or similar)
• Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, and system design principles
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control (Git)
• Knowledge of relational databases and schema design

Technical Skills (Highly Desirable):

• Experience integrating with third-party APIs and platforms (e.g. e-commerce, affiliate, or CRM systems)
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and messaging systems (Pub/Sub, Kafka, or similar)
• Understanding of containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools
• Knowledge of frontend performance optimisation and user experience best practices

Communication & Collaboration:
Strong ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and marketing.

Problem-Solving & Analytical Mindset:
Proven track record of designing and delivering software solutions that solve real business problems and improve user experiences.

Adaptable & Agile:
Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment, balancing multiple priorities, and adapting to evolving product and business requirements.
