Supervisor - Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal

Protech are seeking an experienced Supervisor to join our motivated team at Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal.

The successful candidate will either need to reside in the Mackay/Sarina region or obtain their own accommodation for the duration of employment, as accommodation is not supplied.

THE ROLE:

• Managing scheduled daily maintenance and shutdown maintenance and projects with a high performing team of tradespersons.

• Identify operational issues, conduct relevant analysis, and develop solutions to regular and/or recurring Maintenance and project issues and recommend applicable changes to business practices.

• Provide adequate supervision to maintenance and project personnel (including contractors) for the execution of work activities, ensuring activities are brought in on budget and meet business requirements.

• Negotiate performance plans, motivate, encourage and support team members and provide regular and timely feedback on performance and behaviours.

• Ensure personnel adherence to safety requirements through engaging in comprehensive risk assessment activities, conducting daily toolbox talks and investigating and reporting safety incidents.

• Championing continuous improvement by identifying and implementing changes to optimise work practices and provide technical solution to improve maintenance and project performance.

• Ensure that all activities are carried out in an environmentally responsible manner.

• Ensuring reporting systems and administrative processes are compiled within accordance with established systems.

• Ability to develop appropriate action plans in order to respond to current and emerging issues.

• Actively participate in on-the-job SOP (Safety Observation Program) to detect issues and compile work schedules and support regular SOP review meetings with attendance from a team member.

• Support the site account manager regarding any internal or external requested management objects or business requirements (Change Management).

• Manage all internal and external business system administration requirements (But not limited to) Teams Timesheets– Leave Forms – Client SHMS (CDC) Reporting Data Base - Client Work Reporting Systems Data Base.

• Activity supports all Internal and External business Health and Safety initiatives, improvements, or programs.

• Injury and event management and reporting standards and reporting requirements.

• Attendance management and reporting.

• Flexible roster (at short notice) during shutdown to accommodate DBCT Project requirements.

ABOUT YOU:

• Previous experience as a supervisor within fixed plant maintenance and projects background.

• Candidate is required to have a trade background as boilermaker or painter/blaster

• Ability to manage contractors from diverse occupational groups

• Experience within a heavy industry or similar environment

• Ability to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MISC)

• Work Safely in the Construction Industry Card

• Current Working at Heights Certificate

• Current QLD Drivers Licence

• Ability to work on nights, weekends, and public holidays
