PRIMARY DETAILCoach swimmers of all levels at MUSAC, delivering training, stroke correction, and competition prep in a dynamic, inclusive university squad program.THE ROLECampus Life is currently seeking casual swimming coaches to join the Macquarie University Sports and Aquatics Centre (MUSAC) team. Reporting to the Head Coach, the casual swimming coaches will be responsible for delivering face to face training sessions in both competitive and recreational streams within the MQU Squad program.Duties include:Coach and develop swimmers from the Junior Development phase through to Senior Competition phase within the MQU Squad programDevelop and implement seasonal training plans, providing coaching and advice on technical stroke correction and competition-based performance training plansProvide direction to swimmers of all abilities, adapting and modifying stroke models to suit varying abilitiesAttend and coach at MQU Club races, internal and external competitionsIn consultation with the Head Coach, plan and coordinate the running of MQU internal Club racing opportunities.In collaboration with the Head Coach and the coaching team, implement student retention activitiesConsult with Head Coach to assist and provide feedback within the squad program via the use of CRM system, for continued growth and improvement of the squad programCoach School Holiday Squad ProgramsMaintain accurate records on athletes/swimmers' progression within the programCompletion of administration duties including parent enquiries & parent feedback on student progressionABOUT USMacquarie University Sport and Aquatic Centre (MUSAC) is a multi-purpose venue. Located at Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde, our facility includes a 6-lane heated indoor pool, and an 8-lane outdoor heated Olympic-sized swimming pool. You have the ability to work well in a team environment, as well as the initiative to work independently.In addition, you meet the following criteria:Hold AUSTSWIM Teacher Towards Competitive Strokes and/or SCTA Swim Squad Fundamentals certification as minimumDemonstrated experience coaching in a competitive/ development squad environmentPossesses experience of competitive coaching of Metropolitan/Country level athletes and aboveAbility to develop and nurture swimmers of all abilities with diverse backgroundsWork hours will vary throughout the competition season.
