We are seeking to appoint a full-time Leading Hand Plant Mechanic to Join our experienced Fleet Workshop Team based in Hazelmere, Perth WA. Working Monday to Friday with overtime opportunities.
This role is offering a competitive hourly rate plus penalties, superannuation, monthly RDO and Laundered uniforms.
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will be pivotal in hands on support of the workshop team leading the undertaking of breakdown and scheduled maintenance and repairs of Civil Construction and Road Transport Mobile Plant in our modern well-equipped workshop. Supported by a close-knit team, you will be enabled to work to your strengths on a diverse range of Plant and Equipment. We foster training and upskilling using our internal and external providers to ensure you have the skills required to work safely and efficiently.
Core Responsibilities:
- Mentoring, supporting and training Trades and Apprentices and ensuring workshop tooling consumables and Trades have a clear path for success.
- Lead major internal projects on plant rebuilds, new equipment commissioning and constant improvement innovation.
- Major and minor servicing of mobile construction plant and equipment including road transport and earthmoving.
- Repairs and fault-finding hydraulics, pneumatics electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ordering parts for assigned tasks and diagnosing and repairing a wide range of systems and completing documentation of repairs or conducting services on mobile plant including allocation of hours to jobs.
- Modifying and upgrading systems to meet safety and ergonomic requirements.
- Rebuilding of components testing and commissioning on installation.
To be successful in this role you will ideally possess the following experience and skills, or be willing to learn and develop under mentorship:
- A can-do attitude and drive to make a positive impact to the team by enabling its growth and success and proactively initiate breakdowns by using your experience and resourcefulness.
- Demonstrated experience in servicing a variety of mobile / heavy diesel plant, including trucks, heavy machinery, earth moving and asphalt laying equipment such as road pavers, rollers, skid steers, shuttle buggies, excavators, and loaders.
- Experience in both Hydraulics and Electrical systems, coupled with sound plant and diesel servicing and diagnostic's knowledge.
- A good work ethic and proactive approach to regulate plant maintenance and servicing.
- Well organised and able to work to procedures, with an ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
A valid Driver's Licence and Forklift ticket.
