About the Role

We're looking for friendly and motivated Café All Rounders to join our team at RSPCA Wacol and help create a warm, welcoming experience for every customer who visits our RSPCA café.

We have 2x casual roles available averaging 16 – 25 hours per week, with shifts rostered across weekdays, weekends, and public holidays. Flexibility on rostering is essential as we operate 365 days a year.

In this hands-on role, you'll support the management team with the smooth day-to-day running of the café – from preparing delicious coffee and food, to delivering great customer service and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.

No two days are the same here You'll be taking orders, assisting with food prep, restocking displays, supporting events and catering, and helping ensure our café reflects RSPCA Qld's values and mission in everything we do.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone with a positive attitude, great energy, and a passion for people (and animals). You'll be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and take pride in providing friendly, efficient service every day.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

• Greet customers warmly and take orders with a friendly, professional approach.
• Deliver exceptional coffee, food, and service in a timely manner.
• Support a positive customer experience across dine-in and takeaway service.
• Respond to customer enquiries promptly and help ensure every visit feels special.
• Participate in the daily setup, operation, and clean-down of the café and kitchen.
• Follow all food safety and hygiene practices.
• Assist with food prep, cooking, baking, and restocking shelves and displays.
• Maintain café appearance – from sparkling tables to fully stocked fridges.
• Support catering and events both onsite and offsite as needed.
• Accept and check deliveries to meet food safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with your team and be punctual for all shifts.

What You'll Bring to the Role

• A positive, can-do attitude and a friendly, professional demeanour.
• Previous hospitality experience (around 2 years preferred).
• Barista skills and food safety certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Be reliable, punctual, and committed to your shifts.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and WHS practices.
• Ability to perform physical duties, including lifting up to 10kg.
• A genuine interest in animal welfare and alignment with RSPCA Qld's mission and values.
