Purpose of Role:We are looking for a motivated Warehouse Assistant to support our operations and contribute to a seamless workflow in our Silverware warehouse. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the organisation and cleanliness of the warehouse, assisting with the receipt and dispatch of goods, and ensuring accurate inventory management. You will perform manual handling tasks, including unloading, packing, and stacking products, while adhering to safety protocols and company policies. Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency are essential.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure general tidiness and cleanliness in both the warehouse and showroom
- Assist with the receipt of incoming goods, reporting discrepancies to the warehouse manager as needed
- Conduct inventory checks, maintain stock levels, and prepare for incoming shipments
- Select, allocate, and appropriately relocate stock to fulfill customer orders
- Assist with packing outgoing goods and ensure safe dispatch
- Assist with deliveries and furniture assembly, including driving company vehicles as required, while adhering to safety protocols
- Perform lifting, moving, and manual unloading of goods, as well as packing and stacking stock, including at heights, while adhering to safety protocols
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including the use of provided safety equipment and strict adherence to OHS standards
- Full drivers license (manual license preferrable)
- A forklift license is preferred (but not essential)
- Strong understanding of Workplace Health & Safety
- Minimum 2 years' experience working in warehouse operations
- Excellent communication skills
- Have an eye for detail, high accuracy rate and a flair for juggling tasks and priorities
- Have a good level of physical fitness and the ability to lift and maneuver large and heavy items
- Ability to safely lift and carry items weighing up to 25kg as part of daily warehouse operations
- Good knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management
- Experience in working both within a team and autonomously
- Customer service experience is highly desirable
